Memory Card Konica Memory card for digital camera?
Hi - I'm looking for a memory card for my Konica Minolta Dimage Z3 digital camera. I currently have a 128MB SanDisk card in it right now, and have failed to find anything else that is compatable with my camera. I am shooting a wedding in less than 2 months and I need a memory card with at least 1GB. I have no idea where to begin and this has already been a hassle trying to find a card to work. Help!
Could not find specifications for the memory card in your camera except 128 MB, but it does say in the owners manual to make sure the camera is off and to make sure batteries are removed before removing the memory card.
Before adding or removing memory, make sure the processing or ready light is not blinking then turn the camera off and remove batteries.
You can use several memory cards if the larger cards won't work in your camera. Check with the Geeks in some of the camera retail stores to see if they can help you.
I use the 256 and 512 MB SanDisk cards and find them to be really fast. At a 3 mega pixel setting, the 256 MB card gave me 251 pictures. I use the 3 mega pixel setting because it is faster, takes less memory and gives great results in most cases.

The secret to making digital cameras work better is having good electrical contacts between the batteries and the camera.
Digital cameras require lots of power. If electrical contacts are not really good, this can cause lots of problems so battery and camera contacts must be cleaned properly. Batteries may be fully charged, but will be viewed as low if contacts are not really good. The LCD display is a low steady load, but when lens extension, optical zoom, focus, and flash charging are added in the capture mode; the load is very heavy. With bad contacts, cameras do strange things like making bad pictures or shutting off with the lens out.

Rebel Xsi Digital Can I use a Vivitar 285 hv Flash (the older model) on a Canon Rebel digital XSI?
I own a vivitar 285 hv flash and I'd like to use it on my canon digital rebel, but I'm afraid that it may fry the camera's hotshoe. Has anyone been able to use it and the camera still be ok? PLEASE PLEASE let me know, i saved for a long time to get this camera and I really don't want it to mess up. Be certain of your answers. and Thank you!
I would not take the chance!
If yours is an older model - it may hit your camera with over 200 volts of trigger voltage, which will make a nice toast of the fine electronics inside.
Some of the newer models of 285 come with low trigger voltage (6 volts) and they should be fine, even though I think Canon suggests that even that may be too much.
If you really really want to use it, measure it's voltage (if you know how) and use at your own risk!

I just bought a Canon Eos Digital Rebel XTi camera and I have a Quantaray QB-6500A flash unit left over from my EOS Rebel XS film camera days. The flash has a "CN AF" module on it, which is only TTL compatible, not E-TTL, and the XTi won't fire the flash. Is there a module available to make this flash unit work with Type A (E-TTL) Canon EOS digital cameras, or should I just buy a Canon Speedlite?
Ive read that you shouldnt use the older film flashes with digitals cause they can zap your digital they require more power and if it feeds back your going to fry the computer in the new camera.
Id buy a new flash you spent all that money on a new camera midaswell get a good flash too

Your camera uses SD and SDHC cards, brand should not matter at all. Some of the bigger better known brands are Sandisk, Lexar, Kingston, and Transcend. I am very happy with Sandisk cards. Sandisk (and other brands) have different quality level cards that offer faster speeds and usually are more durable. Sandisk has their regular cards that are good, then the "Ultra" cards that are better, and then the "Extreme" cards that are best.
