Digital Flash Card what is the difference between a digital flash card and a secure digital card for my digital camera.?
Infact they all used for keeping datas but they differ in some terms like data speed, maximum data storage, dimensions, etc. And another factor is the price of course.
The SD cards' capacities are up to 4GB,while the CF cards can store up to 12GB(as 2005).The SD cards have a copyright protection while th CF cards don't.The transfer speed varies but actually there isn't a great difference at all.The SD card has the smaller smaller space and the weight(SD:24x32x2.1mm,2g;CF:43X36X3.3mm,11g).
And when you look at the prices finally the SD is cheaper(For the same manufacturer and the storage size)

Flash Card Media What is the most reliable long term storage media for digital photos?
Perhaps a USB flash drive or a compact flash card or CD-R or even an external hard drive? What other options are there these days?
Thanks to all who answered. All good answers.
The most reliable is online storage Those are well managed and redundant.
If you mean local, put your eggs in several baskets.
Primarily back up to a USB HDD or two, occasionally upgrading.
Secondarily back up to optical (DVD would be ideal), and of course store copies off site.

Mega Pixel Digital How do you get sound on a 1.7 mega pixel digital camera for taping videos?
Someone please help! I need to know how to record with sound! I put it on my computer, turned up all volume and it doesn't work so I looked through the instructions and I can't find anything! I assume it does have something to do with the camera or something. I need sound or my videos are basically nothing when I record them!
If you really want an answer you should tell us what make and model camera you have. 1.7 megapixel only tells us that it's old or crap.

Zoom Lens Excellent Is this a good lens to start out with?
The classified ad says:
For Sale- Excellent Condition Canon 18-55 EF-S Lens Perfect for someone starting up or your Rebel! Designed exclusively for the Eos Digital Rebel, the new EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens offers precision and quality. It is compact, lightweight, and covers the standard zoom range of approx. 28-90mm (in 35mm format) with smooth operation and superb resolution.
This lens only cost me 45$
As the previous posts said, its a good starter, i myself got the same camera and the same lens. I find that f/3.5-5.6 is not ideal for darker conditions, but it does the job. i got the 55-200mm after that one, just as a bit of a zoom feature. the camera is great, but i struggle in lowlight conditions (always have, always will).
for more light, you can get a prime 50mm f/1.8 or something, no zoom, but lets more light in. i might get one.
hope you enjoy the camera! i know i am! any more Q's, just let me know.
